My Story – The Journey Behind MJK Consulting
Interior design has always been a passion of mine, and over the years, I’ve pursued a variety of courses to expand my knowledge and understanding of the industry. However, it wasn’t until my family and I decided to build our own homethat my passion truly came to life. Creating mood boards, furniture plans, and selecting every detail from lighting to artwork, I realised that my vision went beyond just decorating—I was crafting a cohesive, beautiful space from the ground up.​
When I shared my vision and mood boards with our builder, he saw something that was missing in his own business. My attention to detail, creative vision, and ability to bring ideas to life sparked an unexpected opportunity. After signing our contracts, he reached out and offered me the chance to collaborate and develop my business alongside his projects. This collaboration allowed me to grow my skills, build a network, and gain real-world experience in selections consulting and interior design.​
For over two years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with this builder, bringing countless visions to life. From mood boards and renderings to detailed selections books and trade documentation, I’ve honed my skills to ensure every project is seamless and cohesive.​
As my family circumstances have evolved, I am now able to expand my business, taking on more clients and projects. I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients from different areas, coordinating selections through Zoom meetings, emails, and in-person visits. This flexibility allows me to reach clients near and far, ensuring they receive the same level of care and creativity no matter their location.​
I am incredibly grateful to the builder who not only built our dream home but also saw potential in me and supported me in pursuing my dream career. This journey has allowed me to turn my passion into a thriving business, and I am excited to continue creating beautiful, functional, and inspiring homes for my clients.
