At MJK Consulting, we had the privilege of working with a client who envisioned a modern-inspired home with a crisp, timeless aesthetic. Designed with future resale potential in mind, the home beautifully balances sophisticated modernity with warm, natural elements.
Our client wanted a neutral palette of whites and greys, complemented by soft touches of marble and woodgrain textures. To achieve this, we carefully curated finishes, materials, and fixtures that created a seamless, cohesive designthroughout the home.
The build was uniquely challenging, requiring a heritage-inspired façade to meet council requirements while transitioning into a sleek, modern rear living space. The home flows through a breezeway, opening up to a stunning raked ceiling, enhancing the sense of space and light. The exterior materials were thoughtfully selected, incorporating classic weatherboards at the front and vertical Weathertex cladding for the modern extension.
Inside, we maintained a monochromatic colour scheme, with engineered oak flooring adding warmth and VJ panellingintegrated into built-in cabinetry in the mudroom. Modern appliances and soft window furnishings completed the design, creating a space that is both functional and timeless.
By guiding our client through mood boards, supplier visits, selections meetings, and renderings, we ensured every element was considered and visualised before construction began. The result? A stunning modern home that balances heritage charm with contemporary sophistication, tailored for today while future-proofed for tomorrow.
